The tax levied or imposed under this ordinance \lith respect to <br />the purchase of utility service from seller shall be <br />applicable to charges first appearing on bills rendered by <br />seller to purchaser on the first day of July, 1957, and <br />thereafter. <br /> <br />7. 'That individual designated by the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville to collect for utility services shall also be <br />charged \lith the power and the duty of collecting the taxes <br />levied and imposed hereunder and shall cause the same to be <br />paid into the General Treasury of the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />Council received a report from City Manager Hirst as to the status of <br /> <br />negotiations in process with the Richardson heirs for lease of their <br /> <br />property for the continuation of the Chestnut Street ~arking Lot operation. <br /> <br />By letter dated June 4, 1957, the State Vater Control Board advised as <br /> <br />follo\ls, \lith respect to the May 27th appearance of representatives of the <br /> <br />City before the Board: <br /> <br />Set forth belo\l is a tentative draft of Minute 12 from the <br />proceedings of the Board at its meeting on May 27-28, 1957. <br />If you have any comments or changes, please advise us \lithout <br />delay so the final draft can be formulated and submitted to <br />the Board for approval. <br /> <br />Minute 12 - City of Martinsville <br /> <br />Appearing \lere: John W. A revie\l of the record is contained <br />in Mrs. Durrette's memorandum dated May 22,1957, to the Board <br />Members. <br /> <br />Mr. Hirst presented a written report dated 23, 1957. Additional <br />discussion of this report brought out the fact that the City <br />considers its obligation to provide adequate school facilities to <br />take first priority at this time and that preparation by the <br />engineers of additional plans and specifications needed \lill take <br />approximately 12 more months. <br /> <br />
