<br />L20 <br /> <br />T1JESDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 26, 1957 <br /> <br />In the case where protection of the public interest necessitates <br />such action, the chief of police may direct i.c'JI'1ediate revocation of <br />a solicitor1s permit by personal serv.Lce of a notice thereof by the <br />chief of polj~e or his designated subordi~~te upon the holder or <br />the person he represents. V{herein action in this manner is taken <br />the holder of the permit shall iJl1Inediately discontinue those acti- <br />vities granted by tl1e pernit and this ordimmce, but the holder <br />shall be entitled to a hearing within tvw ck'1;ys from the revocation, <br />and the notice of the revocation shall desigmte the time and place <br />of the hearing. <br /> <br />Sec. 12. Designation of Subordinate. <br />The chief of police, when personally unable to discharge t.~e <br />respons:i.oilities herein set forth becal:se of absence from the city <br />or ote,erwise, sha13_ designate one of his subordinates to perform <br />the duties herein roquired of the chief of police. <br /> <br />Sec. 13. Effective dato. <br />This ordinance shall become effective L~arcl1 15, 1957. <br /> <br />No action was taken on the proposed closing of Third street, an unopened street <br /> <br />betvrf)en East Church street and ':Tatt Street, ~ending a reDol>t of the Boa:-d of <br /> <br />Vievrcrs appointed Febr-!J8:::--Y 13th. <br /> <br />Co.wcil deferred act~on on a -proposed budget for the City De~xtrtrr~nt of Welfare, <br /> <br />fO}' the fiscal year endinG June 30, 1958, pending study by the CO"'Jncil. <br /> <br />U)on recommendation of City Manager Hirst, Council approved the recommended widening <br /> <br />of "'ayette Street fro:n Eoss street to Dun1ap Street by neans of constructing curb- <br /> <br />and-gutter on the South Side of Fayette street after :necessary rieht-of--way is <br /> <br />deeded to the City; further, Council 211thorized the constructinG of a sidewalk on <br /> <br />this side of the street bc"b.veen r.Ioss ann =Unlap Streets on a shared-cost basis in <br /> <br />kenping vri th present policy. <br /> <br />Upon recomnendation of the City Manager and the City Attorney, COW1cil adopted the <br /> <br />following resolution authorizi1"..f; City Attorney Stone tc acquire by condemnation or <br /> <br />othCl1';;ise the fee sinmle title or a permanent easement 1irhich will enable the City <br /> <br />to widen and cxtep"c1_ Fis~l.eJ_ Street~ <br />
