<br />~8 <br /> <br />TOES DAY <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 27, 1956 <br /> <br />City Manager H:1rst reported tba t he has requested a sixty-day extension of the <br />contract with the Federal Housing & Home Finance Agency (which contract, fer <br />three hundred days, expires Novenber 29, 1956) in order to attempt to take <br />advantage of the availability of federal advaooe planning funds far sewage <br />disposal plans. The manager also advised Coul'lCil that preliminary plan:; fer <br />complete sewerage system improvements are expected from the Cityls con:;ulting <br />engineers, Wiley &. Wilson, on or shortly after Decemer 1st. <br /> <br />Consideration of the Electric Division I s long-range program, as presented to <br />Council on November 13th, 'Was continued pending receipt of bids covering "step 2. <br />of the program. <br /> <br />Members ot the Board of Trustees or Yartinsville GeneraJ. Hospital, Inc., 'Whose <br />spokesman was Attarney W. R. Broaddus, Jr., a nsmber of the Board, appeared before <br />Council and asked that Council by some legal method not yet determiMd exempt <br />Henry County Medical Center from local real estate taxes. The trustees explaired <br />that the board of directors of the hospital comprise the board of directors of <br />the nedical center and that such net income as might be earned by the medical <br />center is passed on to the tax-exempt hcspital. <br /> <br />On behalf of Fred Dillard and James Hairston, Attorney R. R. Young, Jr., petitioned <br />Council to order reinstatement of a license issued August 1st to James Hairston to <br />offer and sell home-cooked mals at a residence owned by Fred Dillard at the carner <br />ot Fayette street and Smith Road, said license issued unier the terms of Section 4 <br />(A-l Resideooe District Uses) of the CiVIS Zoning Code. Attorney Young admitted <br />that his clients have violated the restrictions, tor which violation the license <br />was revoked in Septenber, but asked that a second chaooe be given. Attorney <br />
