Philpott, and several of the Henry County Supervisors
subsequent to tl1is sale indicated that the County would definitely confirm the
sale and I recormnend to the City that they also confirm it.

In attendance at the sale and to assist in furnishing information to the
potential purchasers were Don Richardson, Tomnw Moses and Irving McGhee. We
also were glad to have with us Mayor Hodnett, Councilman Craig and Councilman
Walker. In the
event that Mr. Hirst will not be in town until rext week and if it is in
order, I would like to request tha t Mayor Hodnett be au tharized to sign' all
deeds. Inasmuch as the high bids exceeded the minimum prices as established
by tre Council, all bids were confirmed immediately following each sale. As a
matter of law, the bid on the property owned jointly with Henry County is
subject to confirmation by the Board of Supervisors and the Henry County
Circuit Court.

For tre information of the Council I attach the following exhibits:

Exhibit A - Handbill of which 1,000 copies were printed and distributed
on June 2 nd.

Exhibit B - Brochure of which 750 copies were printed and distributed
cormnencing Vlednesday, June 6th through the time of the
auc tion.

Exhibit C - Newspaper advertising.

Exhibit D - Radio advertising showing the amount of spot radio
advertising on Radio Stations Vf1NA and WHEE.

Exhibi t E - A list of the properties showing the minimmn price
established Qy Council, the actual price as paid at
auction, the acquisition price vmere known, a list of
purchasers, and the method in which they indicated
they would pay for the property.

'\

Ex..~ibit F - A partial list of expenses.

Signs were made and placed b'J City employees on all property which was offered
for sale. The survey work was
done by Clark Brmvn, as authorized by the Council, and we have not as yet
received the bill for this work.

In presenting the details of the sale to the Henry County Board of Supervisors,
I explained to them that they would bear one-half of one-twelfth of the
promotional expens es. I es tinE. ted for them that this would be $25.00.
According to my calculations this amount, includi~ $5.00 for the signs,
