DeYoung registered his opposition to the installation of a street-light at the intersection of Sam Lion Trail and Beechnut Lane, opposite his residence. Property owners and residents of Emmett Street, by petition, asked Council to replace with modern street-lighting the present lights on said Emmett Street. C'J',lncil deferred action on this request, pending further study. Council sanctioned the conferences being conducted between City representatives and the representatives of Kenmar Farms (\~ittle Trust, administered by the Trus t Department of The First National Bank of Martinsville and Henry County) towards providing and extending City utility services for and to the Kenmar Farms Subdivis ion located outside the corporate limits on the south side of Mulberry Road. Upon motion, du:q seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the following ordinance pr'oviding for a new electric utility tariff applicable to small cOlTlTIBrcial establishments which use electricity for their entire heating and air-conditioning, thus putting into effect the same tariff now being offered such establishments by the Applachian Power Company to its eligible customers: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this thirteenth day of June, 1961, that para- graph (d) of Section 5 of an ordinance enti tIed, "An Ordinance Prescribing Rules and Regulations for the Operation of the Electric Utility System, Hereinafter for Purposes of Brevity Referred to as the Department or the Departrrent of Electrici t,y, of the City of IfErtinsville and far the Penalties for the Violation 'fuereof", be and is hereby amended to include the followi~ electric tariff: CITY OF MARTINSVILT.E, VIRGINIA - ])3part.rnent of Electricit,y GENERAL SERVICE (CEH) C ommerc ial Electric Hea tir~ (Effective July 1, 1961)
