DeYoung registered his opposition to the installation of <br /> <br />a street-light at the intersection of Sam Lion Trail and Beechnut Lane, opposite <br /> <br />his residence. <br /> <br />Property owners and residents of Emmett Street, by petition, asked Council to <br /> <br />replace with modern street-lighting the present lights on said Emmett Street. <br /> <br />C'J',lncil deferred action on this request, pending further study. <br /> <br />Council sanctioned the conferences being conducted between City representatives <br /> <br />and the representatives of Kenmar Farms (\~ittle Trust, administered by the <br /> <br />Trus t Department of The First National Bank of Martinsville and Henry County) <br /> <br />towards providing and extending City utility services for and to the Kenmar Farms <br /> <br />Subdivis ion located outside the corporate limits on the south side of Mulberry Road. <br /> <br />Upon motion, du:q seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the following <br /> <br />ordinance pr'oviding for a new electric utility tariff applicable to small cOlTlTIBrcial <br /> <br />establishments which use electricity for their entire heating and air-conditioning, <br /> <br />thus putting into effect the same tariff now being offered such establishments by <br /> <br />the Applachian Power Company to its eligible customers: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled this thirteenth day of June, 1961, that para- <br />graph (d) of Section 5 of an ordinance enti tIed, "An Ordinance Prescribing <br />Rules and Regulations for the Operation of the Electric Utility System, <br />Hereinafter for Purposes of Brevity Referred to as the Department or the <br />Departrrent of Electrici t,y, of the City of IfErtinsville and far the <br />Penalties for the Violation 'fuereof", be and is hereby amended to include <br />the followi~ electric tariff: <br /> <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILT.E, VIRGINIA - ])3part.rnent of Electricit,y <br />GENERAL SERVICE (CEH) <br /> <br />C ommerc ial Electric Hea tir~ <br />(Effective July 1, 1961) <br />
