Franck, occasioned by his moving in the near future <br /> <br />his place of residence outside the City's corporate limits. Filling of the vacancy <br /> <br />caused by Mr. Franckls resignation was deferred. <br /> <br />Counci.l authorized the execution of an agreEment or contract, now in process of <br /> <br />being prepared by City Attorney I. W. Cubine, with the Henry County Board of <br /> <br />Supervisors for the lodging of City prisoners in the Hem-y County Jail, which <br /> <br />agreement or contract is to pr'ovide--in accordance with the Supervisors' request-- <br /> <br />that the City will pay any medical expense of its prisoners while confined in the <br /> <br />Henry County Jail and the County of Henry will pay any medical expense of its <br /> <br />prisoners while confined at the City IS Prison Farm Jail. <br /> <br />In connection with a petition filed April 12, 1960, by Lanier Farm, Inc., and <br /> <br />Council's action thereon at that time, said Lanier Farm presented the following <br /> <br />affidavit in accordance .vi th pr'ocedure outlined in Section 15-766.1 of the Code <br /> <br />of Virginia, 1950, and as amended, which Council accepted and approved for execution <br /> <br />by representatives of the City, thus providing for the closing and vacating of an <br /> <br />alleyway or pathway near the City's Spruce Street Electric Substation and Lanier <br /> <br />Farmls new bowling arena: <br /> <br />Lanier Farm, Incorporated <br />Fr om: Affi dati t <br />Lanier Farm, I~ orporated <br />State of Virginia <br />City of Maxtinsville, To-wit: <br /> <br />Rives S. Brown, Jr., President of Lanier Farm, Incorporated of <br />Mar tinsv ille , Virginia, bei ng duly sworn according to law, deposes and <br />says that Lanier Farm, Incorporated and the City of Martinsville, Virgini.a <br />are the o'lmers of all the land abutting that portion of a 10 foot pathway <br />in the City of Martinsville, Virginia, which portion of said pathway has <br />never been open to the public, nor used as a public thoroughfare, the <br />description of s aid pathway is described as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at a point on the Northeast side of Spruce Street, which <br />point being 32 feet more or less, from the intersection of Spruce Street <br />and a 50 feet road; thence with parallel lines in a Northeastern direction, <br />
