<br />251 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JANUARY 10, 1961 <br /> <br />/~ <br /> <br />Individual Councilmen also reported that Mrs. Ethel Overt.on has discussed with them <br /> <br /> <br />the question of value of her property and the righ t-of-'I'ray, near the intersection of <br /> <br /> <br />Rout.es 58 and 57 in East Mclrtinsville, required by the City for the reconstruction <br /> <br /> <br />of said Routes 58 and 57. Right-of-way Negotiator I.Iarvin L. Hill reviewed for <br /> <br /> <br />Courcil's benefit his role in acquiring needed right-of-way and also informed Council <br /> <br /> <br />that Mrs. Overton has executed a right-of-way entry which permits necessary construc- <br /> <br /> <br />tion but reserves to VTS. Overton her privilege of conve~li.ng the right-of-way at arw <br /> <br /> <br />tiJne at the appraised price during the course of construction of submitting the matter <br /> <br />to condemnation proceedines instituted by the Cit,y. <br /> <br />City IAanager Hirst presented copies of the City map on which were designated the <br /> <br /> <br />various sewerage construction projects already let to contract as well as the portions <br /> <br /> <br />of these projects already co~)leted. <br /> <br />Council indicated that at its next regular meeting it will fill the vacamy on the <br /> <br /> <br />Human Values Commission caused by the recent resignation of Nlrs. Helen Ford Taylor, <br /> <br /> <br />whose term would have expired January 31, 1961. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Mr. R. A. Henderson, Jr., of Henderson and Henderson, offered to the City a sum of <br /> <br />$2, J.25 .00 towards construction of sewer lines on portions of Lakemont Court and <br /> <br />Clarke Road if the City will construct such portions and perlT'it connections thereto <br /> <br />to serve several residences his firm is in the process of buildirg on these two <br /> <br />streets. 1m:-. Henderson explained that this sum would be equal to his cost of providing <br /> <br />separate sewage disposal facilities (septic tanks and drain fieldS) for these <br />residences and that he would much prefer to contribute this sum towards the permanent <br />facilities contemplated within the City's sewerage improvements program. City Manager <br />Hirst reported that the total cost of these two portions of projects within the <br /> <br />.- <br />
