<br />256 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JANUARY 10, 1961 <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martimville, Virginia., in <br />regular JLeeting assembled January lO, 1961, that the City's Zoning Code <br />and Zoning Map be and are hereby amended to classify as uP_I Professional", <br />for zoning purposes, that property located at 100 Oakdale Street, owned by <br />Mrs. Mattie B. Andes and Mrs. Lucille Andes Weaver, and presently occupied <br />by the Bud She 1 to n Pharmacy. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the C ounc il of the City of Martire ville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled January 10, 1961, that the City's Zoning Code <br />and Zoning Map be and are hereby amended to classify as IlB-2 Business" <br />that lot located at the corner of First and B Streets, owned by James C. <br />Stone and Evelyn H. Stone, and presently leased to Virginia-Carolina <br />Freight Lines, Inc. <br /> <br />By letter dated Januar'J 10, 1961, the Planning Commission recommended that the <br /> <br />peti tion submitted to C oUYX:: il Dec ember 27, 1960, by Mr. F. B. Hill, reques ting the <br /> <br />rezoning (to "B-1 Businessft) of the rear portion of a fifty-foot lot fronting on <br /> <br />Memorial Boulevard opposite its intersection with Henr;r Street, be granted; where- <br /> <br />upon, Council ordered that a duly-advertised public hearing on the requested rezoning <br /> <br />be conducted by Council at its next regular meeting to be held January 24, 1961. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst reported that he has just received a report and proposal from the <br /> <br />Appalachian Power Comparw evaluating Appalachian's electric facilities in the area <br /> <br />annexed to the City on January 1, 1960, which facilities Council has expressed its <br /> <br />intention to acquire and merge with the City's electric utiliW system, which report <br /> <br />will be passed on to Council :L.'1 the near future for study. <br /> <br />Individual CoumiJmen reported that Mr. a.rrl Mrs. C. H. Scearce, 1108 Chatham Heights, <br /> <br />have renewed their appeal far assistance from the City beyond that already offered <br /> <br />by the City in connection with Mr. and Mrs. Scearce's claim of damages to their <br /> <br />property allegedly resulting from the reconstruction of Route 57. <br />
