Hill, reques ting the <br /> <br />rezoning (to "B-1 Businessft) of the rear portion of a fifty-foot lot fronting on <br /> <br />Memorial Boulevard opposite its intersection with Henr;r Street, be granted; where- <br /> <br />upon, Council ordered that a duly-advertised public hearing on the requested rezoning <br /> <br />be conducted by Council at its next regular meeting to be held January 24, 1961. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst reported that he has just received a report and proposal from the <br /> <br />Appalachian Power Comparw evaluating Appalachian's electric facilities in the area <br /> <br />annexed to the City on January 1, 1960, which facilities Council has expressed its <br /> <br />intention to acquire and merge with the City's electric utiliW system, which report <br /> <br />will be passed on to Council :L.'1 the near future for study. <br /> <br />Individual CoumiJmen reported that Mr. a.rrl Mrs. C. H. Scearce, 1108 Chatham Heights, <br /> <br />have renewed their appeal far assistance from the City beyond that already offered <br /> <br />by the City in connection with Mr. and Mrs. Scearce's claim of damages to their <br /> <br />property allegedly resulting from the reconstruction of Route 57. <br />
