That the property is better adapted to business use by reason of its location and its topography. The Council will note that the setback line proposed is unusual in its wording. The reason for this is that the petitioner has donated to the City additional right-of-way for Brookdale Street var".fing in depth from D to 16 feet. This causes the new right-of-way to be irregular in width thus necessitating the relation of the setback line to the present center line of Brookdale Street, The intent of this wording is to place a setback on the property of as nearly 10 feet as possible from the new righ t-of-way lire. The Commission respectfully submits the above reco:rnJm:lmation for Council's fwther consideration. In further consideration of a portion of the petition of Albert Harris Parent- Teacher Association presented October 29th, Council ruled that if and when the curb-and-gutter is constructed as requested on Smith Road it shall be on a "shared-cost" basis in keeping with the City's policy governing cur-b-and-gutter com truction. Councilmen Burch and Wilson, reporting as a special committee, requested--and were granted--continuation of the committee in its study of the Martinsville- Henry County Airport Development Corporation1s request for waiver of rental charged the corporation by the City under the contracts between the two. Pursuant to the October 29th request of Doyle Ready-Mix Company, Council agreed to release Doyle Ready-Mix Company from the right-of..;lJ'ray easeroont granted the City by contract executed in May of 1956 upon the condition that ingress and egress satisfactory to the City is provided to serve two residential properties off Brookdale Street.
