Such temporary certificate shall entitle the applicant to operate a taxicab or for-hire car during the period of time further investigation is being conducted or information is being obtained concerning the appli- cation under the provisions of this Division. The temporary certificate may be revoked at any tine wi thin the ten-day period I'd thout cause and shall not be extended beyond the stated period. The fee of three dollars as provided under this section shall be paid prior to issuance of a temporary certificate and shall not be refunded. Once an individual has been issued a temporary certificate he shall not be issued another such certificate at any future date. An emergency existing, t.~is ordinance shall be in force from date of passage. AN ORDINANCE AME~mING SECTION 16-45 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MlL.TtTIN3VILIE, VlliGINIA, 1956, AND AS AMENDED, REVISIiJG THE REQUmE- MENTS FCB. ffiESENTATION OF HEALTH CERTIFICATES BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, that Section 16-45 of the Code of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, 1956, and as amended, be and is hereby amended to provide that the sixth sentence of said Section 16-45 shall read as fol1o;vs: Each holder of a oxiver's certificate shall furnish the city manager with a renewa.l of his hea.lth certificate at the expiration of each successive tvfelve months I period following the issuanCE to him of s'clch driver I s certificate. Council acknowledged receipt but took no action on the Leeislative Committee repa.ct from the League of Virginia Municipalities. Upon motion, duly seconded, and unanimously approved by those Councilmen voting- Counci.1man Wilson not voting--Council accepted the bid received September 8, 1959 and submitted by the Southvrestern Virginia Gas Company for a gas utility franchise to operate in the City of Martinsville. Council, also, placed upon first reading a gas utility franchise ordinance, being the same as adopted August 11, 1959 with the exception of the filling in of information omitted in said ordinance already adopted.
