Such <br />temporary certificate shall entitle the applicant to operate a taxicab <br />or for-hire car during the period of time further investigation is <br />being conducted or information is being obtained concerning the appli- <br />cation under the provisions of this Division. The temporary certificate <br />may be revoked at any tine wi thin the ten-day period I'd thout cause and <br />shall not be extended beyond the stated period. The fee of three dollars <br />as provided under this section shall be paid prior to issuance of a <br />temporary certificate and shall not be refunded. Once an individual <br />has been issued a temporary certificate he shall not be issued another <br />such certificate at any future date. <br /> <br />An emergency existing, t.~is ordinance shall be in force from date of <br />passage. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AME~mING SECTION 16-45 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />MlL.TtTIN3VILIE, VlliGINIA, 1956, AND AS AMENDED, REVISIiJG THE REQUmE- <br />MENTS FCB. ffiESENTATION OF HEALTH CERTIFICATES <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />that Section 16-45 of the Code of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />1956, and as amended, be and is hereby amended to provide that the <br />sixth sentence of said Section 16-45 shall read as fol1o;vs: <br /> <br />Each holder of a oxiver's certificate shall furnish the city manager <br />with a renewa.l of his hea.lth certificate at the expiration of each <br />successive tvfelve months I period following the issuanCE to him of s'clch <br />driver I s certificate. <br /> <br />An emergency existing, this ordinance shall be in force from date of <br />passa.ge. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt but took no action on the Leeislative Committee <br /> <br />repa.ct from the League of Virginia Municipalities. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded, and unanimously approved by those Councilmen voting- <br /> <br />Counci.1man Wilson not voting--Council accepted the bid received September 8, 1959 <br /> <br />and submitted by the Southvrestern Virginia Gas Company for a gas utility franchise <br /> <br />to operate in the City of Martinsville. Council, also, placed upon first reading <br /> <br />a gas utility franchise ordinance, being the same as adopted August 11, 1959 with <br /> <br />the exception of the filling in of information omitted in said ordinance already <br /> <br />adopted. <br />
