Reflects an improved prison farm budget status due largely to the recent

increase by the State of its payments for board of state prisoners from

one to two dollars per day. The quarry will be expected to show a reduction

in direct revenue due to the limited market for stone and. accordingly,

reductions in quarry expenditures are made. Last year the total farm

operation called on the general fund for $6.991. 62 to theoretically balance

revenue against expenditures budget-wise. In the coming year revenue

will exceed expenditures by $5,616.00. This, it is emphasized, is a

budgetary comparison and is not to be interpreted as an actual monetary

comparison. The prison farm is a valuable and very efficiently operated

arm of the city.

30. Provides $2,000 toward construction of a reservoir in the Chatham Heights

area and $3,000 toward site acquisition for a tank in the Booker Road,

Church Street and Brookdale Street area. Both of these amounts are

considerably short of the total sums needed for these two projects but

represent a step in the proper direction.

31. Provides $2,000 for improvements to the impounding reservoir.

32. Provides $ 700 for improvements. primarily toilets, at the res ervoir

recreation area.

- 23 -
