<br />25. Provides for flashing school caution signs for the new Druid Hills School. <br /> <br />26. Provides $15,000 for new street construction. The south portion of <br /> <br />Stultz Road and the connection of Brown Street with Bridge Street are being <br /> <br />tentatively considered in connection with this item. However, this amount, <br /> <br />having been considerably reduced, is far short of any desirable major <br /> <br />undertaking. $8,300 is available in escrow toward a Bridge Street widening <br /> <br />project. Specific projects under these funds would, of course, be approved <br /> <br />by the Council. <br /> <br />27, Allocates $45,000 from which would be allowable 14,500 linear feet of <br /> <br />shared-cost curb and gutter, the projects to be selected by City Council, <br /> <br />and, widening and curb and gutter on: <br /> <br />Fayette Street (Rte. 57 W) from A ilcie St. to Beaver and First Streets. <br /> <br />Chatham Rd. (Rte. 57 E) from Bethel Lane and Blankenship to Myrtle Rd- <br /> <br />The reduction of shared-cost curb and gutter from the normal 18,000 linear <br /> <br />feet is to allow for the two widening projects on Route 57 pursuant to the <br /> <br />city's new primary route policy. The block for widening on Rteo 57 E is <br /> <br />designated on the assumption the city will have widening underway between <br /> <br />Bob Gregory Street and Bethel Lane prior to the close of the current fiscal <br /> <br />year. If not, this first block would be scheduled for 1959-60 instead of the <br /> <br />block beyond Bethel Lane. <br /> <br />28. Provides $900 for a barn on the airport land for prison farm farming <br /> <br />activities. The city has been using a barn on property of others and land <br /> <br />- 22 - <br />
