Pursuant to Courcil's May 5th request, City Manager Hirst presented a schedule of traffic counts on certain pr'imary routes within the City. In conrection with the City Manager's May 5th suggestion, Council ordered the removal of curb-and-gutter- and-wictening construction on primary routes from t..~e City's current shared-cost policy, thereby indicating that future curb-and-gutter-and-widening construction on these routes would be dom with no direct cost-participation on the part of property owners. Pursuant to a request by letter from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, located on East Church Street Extended, C oun::il directed that said East Church Street Extended shall no longer be closed off for sleigh-riding duriY'.[; winter snows. Council further directed that the City Mamger find a suitable sleigh-riding area to replace East Church Street Extended. Council instructed City Manager Hirst to advertise for sale at public auction the present timber on both the Smith Lake and the Poorhouse Farm tracts. In response to some inquiries, City Manager Hirst informed Coumil that the widening of Starling Avenue on the east side between Mulberry Road and Mart1nsville General Hospital emergency driveway entrance was approved as a construction project and included in the current 1958-59 budget.
