In conrection with the <br /> <br />City Manager's May 5th suggestion, Council ordered the removal of curb-and-gutter- <br /> <br />and-wictening construction on primary routes from t..~e City's current shared-cost <br /> <br />policy, thereby indicating that future curb-and-gutter-and-widening construction <br /> <br />on these routes would be dom with no direct cost-participation on the part of <br /> <br />property owners. <br /> <br />Pursuant to a request by letter from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, located on <br /> <br />East Church Street Extended, C oun::il directed that said East Church Street Extended <br /> <br />shall no longer be closed off for sleigh-riding duriY'.[; winter snows. Council <br /> <br />further directed that the City Mamger find a suitable sleigh-riding area to replace <br /> <br />East Church Street Extended. <br /> <br />Council instructed City Manager Hirst to advertise for sale at public auction the <br /> <br />present timber on both the Smith Lake and the Poorhouse Farm tracts. <br /> <br />In response to some inquiries, City Manager Hirst informed Coumil that the <br /> <br />widening of Starling Avenue on the east side between Mulberry Road and Mart1nsville <br /> <br />General Hospital emergency driveway entrance was approved as a construction project <br /> <br />and included in the current 1958-59 budget. <br />
