<br />~70 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br />-- <br /> <br />NOVEMBER 9. 19~ <br /> <br />Council unanimously approved, for Mayor Wilson's signature, a contract with <br /> <br />Martinsville Convalescent Home in connection with the making available by the <br /> <br />City of water and sewer service, in keeping with the Planning Commission's <br /> <br />recommendation thereon, filed with Council under date of October 26, 1965. <br /> <br />With reference to petition presented September 28, 1965, by Druid Lanes <br /> <br />Bowling Center, requesting revisions of applicable City statutes and/or <br /> <br />ordinances to permit the installation and operation of IIpool tablesll or <br /> <br />IIbilliard tablesll as an adjunct to the bowling alley operation, and in view <br /> <br />of current zoning prohibitions as to this request, Council referred to the <br /> <br />Planning Commission the suggestion that an applicable usage classification <br /> <br />be added to the Zoning Code to permit this operation, in which event a <br /> <br />revision of Section 10-27 of the City Code would also be required. <br /> <br />Council unanimously recommended to Judge John D. Hooker, Judge of Martinsville <br /> <br />City Circuit Court, the names of Messrs. Whitney Shumate and Clarence C. <br /> <br />Donavant for appointment to--and as--the 1966 Board of Assessors for the City. <br /> <br />Council referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration and <br /> <br />recommendation, a petition submitted by Lacy Manufacturing Company (through <br /> <br />its counsel, Mr. William F. Stone, Attorney at Law) requesting the rezoning <br /> <br />from "R-6 Residential" to IIM-2 Industrial" certain properties owned by <br /> <br />petitioner and fronting Adele Street and/or to the rear of lots fronting <br /> <br />this street, being five lots or portions of five lots in number in the area <br /> <br />of the present Lacy Manufacturing Company plant site. <br />
