<br />~18 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JUNE 22, 1965 <br /> <br />a deferment of action by Council. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation by Commissioner of the Revenue J. David Morris, Council <br /> <br />directed a refund of $140.60 to J. O. & N. L. Wilson, representing real <br /> <br />estate taxes erroneously assessed (and paid) for 1963 and 1964 involving a <br /> <br />property transaction in 1962 between the Wilsons and George W. Mitchell. <br /> <br />Also, upon recommendation of Commissioner of the Revenue J. David Morris, <br /> <br />Council directed a refund of $62.76 to J. M. Davis Heirs, representing <br /> <br />real estate taxes erroneously assessed (and paid) for the tax years 1954- <br /> <br />1964 involving Lot 14, Highland Street Extension. <br /> <br />Subject to the City Attorney's approval as to form and subject to final <br /> <br />approval by the Planning Commission as to compliance with subdivision <br /> <br />requirements, Council approved a contract between the City and Mr. S. G. Whittle, <br /> <br />III, relating to a subdivision development at the south end of Whittle Road. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of--and unanimously accepted the low bid of <br /> <br />Thompson-Arthur Paving Company--the following bids for contract paving of <br /> <br />specified City streets during the forthcoming 1965-66 year: <br /> <br />J. R. Ford . . . . <br />Adams Construction <br />Thompson-Arthur <br /> <br />$ 97,327.91; <br />85,767.60; and <br />72,759.31. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Hirst and the City's architect, Council <br /> <br />authorized an addition of $886.00 to the City's contract with Stanley H. Clark, <br /> <br />Contractor, to provide for a revision of a wall and driveway area to the rear <br /> <br />of the new central fire station now under construction at the corner of Church <br /> <br />and Moss Streets. <br /> <br />
