Yeaman, Clerk of Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was <br />duly adopted by said Council at regular meeting assembled on <br />the 25th day of May, 1965. <br /> <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this 26th day <br />of May, 1965. <br /> <br />The next item on the agenda, viz., l'Agreement re: Office of Economic <br /> <br />Opportuni ty t Headstart Program t II was reported as requiring no action of <br /> <br />Council at this time. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst informed Council of the following bids received for <br /> <br />the construction of a raw water pumping station at Beaver Creek Impounding <br /> <br />Reservoir, noting that these bids are under review by the City's consulting <br /> <br />engineers: <br /> <br />English Construction Company . <br /> <br />$69,900.00; and <br /> <br />Prillaman & Pace, Inc. . . . <br /> <br />$64,993.00. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst called to Council's attention the necessity--in the near <br /> <br />future--of asking the Martinsville City Circuit Court to appoint a Board of <br /> <br />Assessors for the 1966 quadrennial reassessment of taxable real estate and, <br /> <br />also, if the Council desires the services of the State Department of Taxation <br /> <br />in this reassessment, to notify the Department of Taxation as soon as possible <br /> <br />in order that the Department can so arrange its schedule. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst informed Council of the need for acquiring additional <br /> <br />property from Mr. Kennon C. Whittle, Jr., being in addition to that purchase <br /> <br />authorization by Council on March 9, 1965, which additional property consists <br /> <br />of a small radial tract extending twenty-two feet along the west side of <br /> <br />Starling Avenue and twenty-two feet along the south side of Mulberry <br />
