<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 11. 1964 <br /> <br />thoroughfares in and around the City of Martinsville, either by the City or <br /> <br />in participation with one or more other governmental agency, including to <br /> <br />plan and construct or reconstruct drainage facilities, bridges and utility <br /> <br />lines as may be necessary to such streets and thoroughfares; and, to acquire <br /> <br />or lease lands, rights-of-way or easements as may be necessary to all the <br /> <br />preceding purposes". <br /> <br />.--- <br /> <br />--- <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst reported that the Planning Commission has approved the <br /> <br /> <br />re-subdivision of the property to be occupied by the Patrick Henry Shopping <br /> <br /> <br />Center (or Patrick Henry Mall), subject to execution of a contract between <br /> <br /> <br />the owners-developers of this property and the City of Martinsville for <br />certain physical improvements thereto, generally as follows: <br />(1) The City to wide:Cl East Church Street beyong Booker Road to a <br />maximum of fourteen feet to provide a deceleration lane for <br />traffic entering the Mall off East Church 'Street, with the <br /> <br />developer to pay for the cost of relocating curb-and-gutter- <br /> <br />and-sidewalk along the south side of this street; <br /> <br />(2) The City, at City's expense, to relocate slightly and reduce the <br /> <br />width of the street median along the widened section of the street; <br /> <br />(3) The developer to be responsible for construction of driveways and <br /> <br />for surface drainage facilities; <br /> <br />(4) The City to provide a ten-inch water main to the Mall property <br /> <br />line and to maintain the extensions thereof into the Mall property, <br /> <br />which extensions will be constructed by the developer; <br /> <br /> <br />(5) The City to extend and connect a sewer line from and between <br /> <br /> <br />Brookdale Street towards East Church Street, along Madison Street; <br /> <br />(6) The City to maintain sewer service lines within the Mall; and <br /> <br />,... <br /> <br />2~ <br />
