<br />34 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 14. 1964 <br /> <br />the subdivision be required; and that petitioner be allowed to <br /> <br />develop the property under terms of the subdivision ordinance. <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted the report of the Commission in <br /> <br />this matter. <br /> <br />Council also acknowledged receipt of--and accepted--the report of the <br /> <br />Planning Commission on a petition filed by Mr. Stafford G. ~~ittle, III, <br /> <br />requesting the rezoning of property along the north and east sides of <br /> <br />Brookdale Road and Spruce Street, in which report the Commission recommended <br /> <br />denial of the petition. <br /> <br />One other report of the Commission recommended Council's approval of two <br /> <br /> <br />separate petitions filed April 14, 1964, and May 12, 1964, by Moorefield's <br /> <br /> <br />Cleaners & Laundry, Inc., requesting the rezoning to "M-2 Industrial" <br /> <br />classification of two lots owned by petitioner and located to the rear and <br /> <br />adjacent to petitioner's present plant site off the west side of Memorial <br /> <br />Boulevard. Council tentatively accepted the Commission's report by calling <br /> <br />for a duly-advertised public hearing on the proposed rezoning to be conducted <br /> <br />by Council at its next regular meeting to be held July 28, 1964. <br /> <br />As per listing in City Manager Hirst's memorandUDl dated July 10, 1964, Council <br /> <br />adopted a curb-and-gutter and/or sidewalk construction program, consisting of <br /> <br />some 21,019 feet, for the current budget year, with authorization to carry <br /> <br />over such projects on the list into the 1965-66 budget year as may not be <br /> <br />completed during the current budget year.
