Upon inquiry by Council, Mr. Carl Bach, of the Smoke Abatement Committee, informed Council that there are still emissions of soot and smoke by the Moorefield plant and that complaints by citizens of this condition are still being received. Mr. Bach commented on similar conditions related to the C,::mnty-Ci ty Laundry operations, rpporting that this firm is in the process of purchasing replacement equipment which should improvfl the air pollution condition in the East Church Street area. ,- Council acknowledged receipt of the following reports from the Planning Commission, covering items referred by Counci 1 to the Commission: (1) 1tJel1s & Hundley :3Ubdi vision along Tanglewood Drive (formerly Victoria Road) -- the Commission reporting that this sub- division meets all of the requirements of the subdivision ordinance insofar as design standards are concerned and that final approval has been granted; (2) Proposal by Burch-Hodges-Stone, Inc., received June 9, 1964, regarding widening and improving Bridge Street -- the Co,1l!J1ission reporting that it has unanimously granted conditional approval of the subdivision and that it recommends that the ten-foot dedication of right-of-vlaY, as offered, be accepted and that the widening of Bridge Street in the area be undertaken at such time as may be feasible; and \~litney Shumate Subdivision, Fifth Street, between C and EStreets (3) - the Commission reporting that it is granting conditional approval of the proposed development and that it recommends acceptance by Council of twelve feet of right-of-way; that no further change in ~,.~~.~_.__._-'_._-_.~-"-_._..__._.~._._-,~"^^-~'"-~~.~-,.._-..._"---,.__.
