S2

TUESDAY

JULY 14. 1964

Cleveland-Ellsworth-Water Street area; however, the School Board informed

Council that every consideration has been given available sites as well as

to enlarging present facilities and that the only conclusion at the

present time is to plan for a new high school on the Northside Drive site.

Council then concurred in the School Board's request to be filed with the

Federal Housing & Home Finance Agency for a planning loan of $50,000.00.

Meanwhile, in the event fees for architectural planning services become

due before proceeds from the planning loan are received, Council authorized

the School Board to borrow from local banks--on a temporary basis--such

funds as may be required (not to exceed the amount of the loan being applied

for) to pay for such services.

Council ratified its action of June 23, 1964, by approving the resolution

incorporated therein pertaining to gross receipts license reporting-and-

taxation by and of local contractors.

Pursuant to Council's request from its meeting of June 23rd, by letter

dated July 6th, Moorefield's Cleaners & Laundry described certain procedures

it has taken to abate air pollution by its plant and, too, reported that it

waS unaware of the lint problem reported by Mrs. W. H. Draper, of Park

Street, until brought to Moorefield's attention by Council's action of

June 23rd. Steps have already been taken, Moorefield's advised, to eliminate

this condition through the installation of a lint-trap; moreover, as soon as

the proposed addition to the plant can be constructed, with installation of

additional equipment, Moorefield's reported that everything will have been

done to abate air pollution. Meanwhile, this firm also reported that it has

",'""...<....."~...".__.,~._-"'''-~"-;""'.,...,'_.~~,-,,,-,.,-~---,~._...."""-,....._,...,""....."..."',"".~ ..', ""..-~.""..,.~."~"."",,."""
