<br />50 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />APRIL.14. 1964 <br /> <br />Pursuant to a request and proposal from Lester Lumber Company (see minutes <br /> <br />of December 10, 1963), Council unanimously authorized the construction of <br /> <br />curb-and-gutter at the intersection of Clearview and Northside Drives, for <br /> <br />some 5?O feet along property oc~:upied by a supermarket, the cost of whil~h <br /> <br />(eCltimated at $1,978.08, with the City's share estimated at $1,536.00) to <br /> <br />be underwritten by Lester Lumber Compg.ny and with the understanding that the <br /> <br />City will reimburse Lester Lwnber Company for the City's share from the <br /> <br />City's 1964-C'5 budget allotment, inasmuch as funds and work-schedules under <br /> <br />the current budget do not permit the City to undertake this work during the <br /> <br />current year. Council, also, unanimously accepted the gift, by deed, from <br /> <br />Lester LlL'1lber Company of ten feet of right-of-way along CleF>rview Drive for <br /> <br />the distanc~ of curb-and-gutter to be constructed along Clearview Drive. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of City Manager Hirst, and to parallel (in part) <br /> <br />current policies of other electric utilitie~3, Council amended the City's <br /> <br />Electric Code and, also, the Rules and Regulations for the Operation of <br /> <br />the City's Electric Utility by adopting the following changes in said <br /> <br />Code and said Rules & Regulations: <br /> <br />ELECTRIC CODE: <br />Page 8 - Paragraph 26: <br />In areas served by overhead lines, when the customers desire <br />that the serv~ce be run underground from the p~le to the <br />building, it will be necessary for the customer to install <br />the service equipment. The Electric Utility should be <br />consulted as to the advisability of such a service and they <br />will specify the meter location and the pole from which the <br />service is to be run. Either conductor su~_table for under- <br />ground i.1.stallations in conduit or other cable approved for <br />the purpose installed in accordance with the Utility's <br />specifications should be used. Where the conduit enters the <br />ground at the pole or building it should be enclosed in <br />concrete to a depth of 18 inches. Suoh service shall be not <br />less than three conductors #4 and as much larger as the load <br />requires. It if furth:?r understood that in such underground <br />service it shall be done entirely at the customer's expense <br />and maintained by customer. The Utility will, upon request, <br />
