Cit.y Ma.nager Hirst announced the awarding of ~sl,5oo.oo to Martinsville }!:emorial Public Library by the Book-of-the-Month Clt:b, Inc., for the year 1963, which not only classified the Martinsville Library as being one of ten libraries in the United states qualif~ling for this mvard but also enabling the local library to become eligible for a first-place award of :~5 , 000. In response to inquiry by City Manager Hirst, Council ordered that any trailer park or court located outside the corporate limit~--such c011rts presently not being permitted to locate within the corporate limits--and desiring to be served by City utilities, must make application to Council for such service, at which time Council will determine whether such service will be f1.lrnished by the City. In the case of property owned by ~.T. George Salmons, locat.ed on Cabell street just outside trle City's southeast corporate limits, Council ordered that each mobile unit in this court must be served by separate connections and that all other requirements by the City must first be met. In addition, Council directed that each mobile unit (its OYVDer or tenant) must also deposit with the City Treasurer the utility deposits anplicable to and required of res idential tenants.
