SchoiJtland property and Martimville General Hospital, and extending from <br /> <br />Starl:Lncr Avenue to Oakdale Street. <br /> <br />A t City Manager H:irst' s request, C oun::il postponed cons icJeration of a proposed capital <br /> <br />improvements program for the electric utility system. <br /> <br />Ci ty ~,lanager Hirst and Pl1blic Welfare Superintendent Glenn Fuqua outlined the requirements and <br /> <br />scope of a nev. financial assistance program for eligible medically-indigent persons over <br /> <br />sixty-five years of age, beginning Jctnuary 1, 196h, 13% of the cost of which is to be borne <br /> <br />by the City. Also outlined was the scope of juvenile court activities n~v being carried by <br /> <br />the "Welfare Department, with emphasis on the need for a juvenile probation officer for the City. <br /> <br />City Manager Hirst announced the appointment of Mr. John VJilford Bowles as Dog Warden, effective <br />I <br /> <br />December 9, 1963, succeeding Mr. Aubrey L. 'Nells, who resigned as of October 25th because of <br /> <br />illne~;s . <br /> <br />I <br />By petition, Mr. Preston R. Graham, 716 Liberty Street, requested the rezoninG of his property <br /> <br />at said 716 Liberty street to permit business occupancy and, also, adjoining lots #3, #4, and <br /> <br />#5.
