1f TUESDAY JULY 23. 1 ~3 .....--- Also in connection with the Health Center project, Council unanimous~ adopted the folloving resolution authorizing Mayor Wilson to execute certain documents, the resolution being as follows: - WHEREAS, it is understood by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, that regulations of appropriate State and Federal agencies require designation by Martinsville City Council of the official who shall execute certain documents rEquired by the State and Federal agencies pursuant to the financing and constructing of the proposed Health Center for MsrtinsvilIe ; therefore, BE rr RmODlED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twenty-third day of July, 196.3, that it does hereby' designate and authorize its Mayo:; J. Frank Wilson, to execute for the City such documents as might be required to be executed on behalf of the City or Martinsville for the purpose herein stated. In acknovledging receipt of a petition fran a number of residents of Stratford Court, requesting the construction of curb-and-gutter along said stratford Court on a shared-cost basis, Council directed that this petition be filed for future consideration along vith existing curb-and-gutter petitions on file. Ci ty Manager Hirst reported that planning is now underway for making certain improvements to the Community Park athletic field and that already' grading is in process to provide - a parking area adjacent to Swanson Street and that plans are being prepared for bleachers adjacent to the athletic field. Mr. Hirst, further, indicated that bids are expected to be requested in the near future for the erection of the bleachers. - Pursuant to recOJlDl1endations of City Manager Hirst, Council unanimously appropriated fran the Vater Fund IS improvement program account the sum. of $.3,800.00 to finance the cost of urgent and necessary repairs to the Water Division's Standpipe (water tank) located off Bethel Lane.
