<br />~8 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 8, 1962 <br /> <br />In the event of an abandorunent, or discontinuance of use through <br />termination of rail traffic or removal of rails, by the C omparw <br />of arv right-of-way or portion of any right-of-way conveyed by <br />the City, such right-of-way shall revert to the City in fee <br />simple. <br /> <br />The City shall not be obligated in arv manrer as to cost of surveys, <br />grading, or construction referred to herein, or as to maintenance <br />of the rights-of-way, or as to construction, installation, operation, <br />or maintenance of arv rail traffic or vehicular traffic control <br />devices or signals determined necessary for efficient and safe <br />operation of the rail and vehicular traffic within the tract. <br /> <br />Arv conveyances by the City to the Company of rights-of-way shall be <br />subject to the terms of this Resolution, ans as if the same were <br />incorporated therein verbatim. <br /> <br />It is recognized that the City may, from time to time, convey various <br />parcels in said tract for industrial sites. <br /> <br />It is further recognized that the City is presently seeking to annex said <br />"airport tract" into the corpcrate limits of the City, and that such <br />action is now pending in the C:ircuit Court of the County of Henry; am <br />that stCh action by the City is directed for the purpcs e of better <br />enabli~ the City to proceed with and participate in the orderly indust- <br />rial development of the tract. <br /> <br />Upon motion, C ouneil unanimously awarded a contract to the accounting firm of <br /> <br />WilliamZ. Fcrd, CPA, for the conduct of the audit of the City's financial <br /> <br />records and accounts for the fiscal year endirg June 30, 1962. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the Plannirg Commission, by letter dated May 8, 1962, <br /> <br />C01mcil denied a petition recently submitted by Mr. and Mrs. Max H. White, <br /> <br />requesting the rezoning of their property on the east side of Starling Avenue, <br /> <br />in the vicinity of Granville Street, from "A_2 Residential" to "P-2 Professional". <br /> <br />Mr. J. R. Gregory, local Postmaster, called Couooil's attention to the fact that <br />Council's action on April 24, 1962, in re-naming streets in what was formerly <br /> <br />known as the North Moss Street area will result in confusion because of conflict <br /> <br />with the City's house numbering system; whereupon Council suggested that City <br /> <br />officials confer with Mr. Gregory ani residents of the North Moss Street area <br /> <br />and develop for Coumil's consideration a more workable street-na.n:e plan for <br /> <br />the area. <br /> <br /> <br />_......."'_'O"',"'~"""..,.-~'_...,..,~ """,""'~""""-"-""""'""""'""'''''''.'"--'''''''"-'.--~"'''...""-....,....-.-...."',"...''"''" <br />
