o

FRIDAY

APRIL 'ZJ. 1292

REVENUE
Utilities
At the present time the city if serving utilities in this
area to the following numbers of custaners.

Commercial Residential Total
Electric 5 131 136
Water 22 315 337
Sewer 2 0
Electric & Water 2 35
Electric & Sewer 0 0
Water & Sewer 7 99
All 3 1 35

Gross utility revenue from the area is as follows:

out-of-citY' rates

Adjusted to in-citY' rates

Electric
Water
Sewer

$ 8,400.00
26,140.80
13,000.00

$ 8,400.00
13,070.40
13,000.00

If the sections were incorporated into the city there would be no changes in
electric and sewer rates from the present tariff schedule; hovever the water
revenue would be reduced by 50 per cent.

General CitY' Revenue

other annual revenue which eventually might accrue to the city would
fall into the various revenue categories of the city. Consideration
would have to be given to any Court-directed use of any or all of this
revenue.

Complete tax data has not been yet available as to tax values in the
area. It will be necessary to go into a more extensive study in order
to develop this information.

CXle revenue factor that draws particular attention is the manufacturers
gross receipts license tax. This comes into attention because of the
amount of industrial activity in the Comission's area. It would be
considered, based on prelilllinary evaluation, that subject to poliCY
determination by City Council substantial reductions in the
manufacturers gross receipts tax could be made if the taxable value
of the area proposed were added to the existing city.

The water and sewer: utility revenue :f'rom developed and undeveloped
sections of the proposed area would for considerable pariod of time
be materially offset by the cost of utility extensions into the area.

""~."...._~""'"--"-,,_..--"'""'-----~,,.""~"".."~-~,.""~' -,,"",
