<br />I"~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 26, 1969 <br /> <br />In consideration of this matter, the petitioner was made aware of the <br />Commission's reason for desiring a maximum setback from Clearview Drive. <br />This reason being the probable necessity for the widening of Clearview <br />Drive in the future, however, it was their feeling that some recognition <br />of this fact should be a part of any contract between the City and the <br />Wells & Donavant Corporation. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission respectfully submits the above recommendation <br />for Council's further consideration. <br /> <br />In connection with the following recommendation of the Planning Commission, <br /> <br />Council called for a duly-advertised public hearing to be conducted by Council <br /> <br />at its second meeting in September (1969) on said recommendation: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission, at its regular meeting on Thursday, August 21, <br />1969, conducted a public hearing with regard to its proposal to amend <br />the City's Zoning Ordinance to allow Child Day Care Centers in the City <br />and particularly in the R-6 Residential District. <br /> <br />Following this public hearing and consideration of the evidence heard, <br />the Commission voted to recommend to Council that the Zoning Ordinance <br />be amended in accordance with the attached proposals. <br /> <br />In its consideration of this matter, the Commission recognized the <br />need in this area for an operation of this type and is hopeful that <br />the proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance will make possible the <br />creation of the necessary Centers to fulfill this need. <br /> <br />The Commission respectfully submits the above recommendation for <br />Council's further consideration. <br /> <br />SECTION V <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />R-9 <br /> <br />Rewrite #3 <br /> <br />3. Day nurseries operated as an Incidental Home Occupation caring <br />for not more than six children with an outdoor play area <br />equivalent to at least one hundred sq. feet per child. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />R-6 <br /> <br />Add #4 <br /> <br />4. Child Care Centers: provided, <br /> <br />a. That no building so used shall be closer than 50 feet to any <br />side or rear line. <br /> <br />b. That fenced play area be provided equivalent to 100 sq. ft. <br />per child. <br /> <br />c. That off-street parking be provided on the basis of one space for <br />each employee and two spaced for visiting medical and/or dental <br />personnel. <br /> <br />d. That off-street loading and/or unloading area be provided <br />equivalent to 150 sq. ft. per child. <br /> <br />- <br />
