<br />~l ( <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 25, 1969 <br /> <br />r'--- <br /> <br />this problem, i.e., the unrestrained availability of both written and visual <br /> <br />material, and instructed its Clerk to convey the Council's expression to its <br /> <br />representatives in both the Virginia General Assembly and the United States <br /> <br />Congress. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of--and ordered filed for review in connection <br /> <br />with the forthcoming budget study--the following petitions: <br /> <br />(a) for construction of curb-and-gutter and/or sidewalk along <br /> <br />Indian Trail from present sidewalk terminus to Windsor Lane; and <br /> <br />(b) for construction of curb-and-gutter along Swanson Street, from <br /> <br />Armstead Street to Lincoln Street. <br /> <br />Pursuant to request of Mr. Frank Smith, representing Martinsville Cable <br /> <br />Vision, Inc., Council authorized the writing of a letter to the local <br /> <br />CATV franchise holder, viz., American Finance Management Corporation, <br /> <br />Silver Spring, ~~ryland, describing the relationship between the CATV <br /> <br />operator and the City as being cordial and satisfactory, and generally <br /> <br />expressing the City's satisfaction with the franchise holder's business <br /> <br />conduct in the local CATV operation. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of copies--as required--of office expense <br /> <br />requests filed (aith the State Compensation Board) by the several local <br /> <br />Constitutional Officers, with approval being indicated of all requests <br /> <br />with the exception of one salary item in the Commissioner's requests, <br /> <br />viz., that item being reduced by $300.00 (salary of principal). <br /> <br />Pursuant 00 its action (and conditions set forth) taken August 9, 1966, <br /> <br />and upon application of Mr. O.
