<br />02 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 25, 1969 <br /> <br />Mr. M. Harrison Joyce, Council renewed special-use permit allowing the <br /> <br />conduct of the Henry County Fair & Exposition at IILiberty HeightslJ for <br /> <br />its 1969 season. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Fulton, resident of Jefferson street, appeared before Council <br /> <br />and expressed concurrence with plans for the authorized improvements to <br /> <br />the intersection of Mulberry Road-Jefferson Street-Spruce Street, about <br /> <br />which Mr. Fulton and others have previously expressed concern. <br /> <br />In acceptance of the following bid or offer received from the Piedmont <br /> <br />Trust Bank and The First National Bank of Martinsville & Henry County <br /> <br />as recomnended by the City.s financial consultant (Wheat & Company, Inc.), <br /> <br />Council adopted the following resolution authorizing the issuance of <br /> <br />$1,800,000 City of Martinsville General Improvement Bonds, i.e., the sale <br /> <br />of same to the two named banks: <br /> <br />March 25, 1969 <br /> <br />Council of the City of Martinsville <br />Martinsville <br />Virginia <br /> <br />Dear Sirs: <br /> <br />For the $1,800,000 Public Improvement Bonds of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, dated May 1, 1969, we submit the <br />following bid: <br /> <br />$700,000 bonds maturing May 1, 1970 to 1976, incl., at 4.80 per cent <br />$700,080 bonds maturing May 1, 1977 to 1980, incl., at 4.90 per cent <br />$400,000 bonds maturing r~y 1, 1981 to 1982, incl., at 4.80 per cent <br /> <br />we will pa) one million eight hundred thousand and no/100 Dollars <br />($1,800,000 , plus accrued interest from the date of the bonds to the <br /> <br />date of delivery. <br />
