BB TUESDAY AUGUST 13. 1968 By report dated August 13, 1968, the City Planning Commission advised that--in its findings--the proposed location of a new postoffice facility in the Druid Hills Shopping Center area is acceptable and is in the best interest of the community as a whole. Upon motion, Council unanimously accepted the Commission's report. In order to expedite the proceedings concerning the requested rezoning of ,..- properties at 405 and 406 Bridge Street, petitions for which were filed July 23, 1968, Council directed that a duly-advertised public hearing on the requested rezoning be conducted by Council at its regular meeting to be held September 10, 1968, by which time the Planning Commission will have held its public hearing thereon and will have presented its recommendations thereon. Upon motion, Council unanimously ratified the recent awarding of contracts to the following firms and for the following amounts, for the construction and/or reconstruction of Mulberry Extension, between Starling Street and Cleveland Avenue: Thompson-Arthur Paving Company Williams Ready-Mi~ Concrete $25,325.68; and 6,540.00. - / After reviewing the following bids received for the installation of storm-and- sanitary sewer drains and lines, Council accepted the lowest bid received, viz., that of Bryant's Plumbing & Heating Company: For: 274' 1511 storm drains ) 38LI1 1811 storm drains ) 250' 411 sanitary sewers ) 2,214' 811 sanitary sewers ) 1 , 702 ' 1811 sani tary sewe rs ) serving principally; (1) Mulberry Extension project; (2) completing line serving Industrial Park; and (3) Hundley Street. ..- Contractor Prillaman & Pace ..... Laramore Construction Bryant's Plumbing & Heating Amount $ 46,808.07; 44,838.40; and 43,635.00.
