<br />..~ fj <br />.....c <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 25. 1967 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded, and unanimously carried, Council adopted the <br /> <br />following ordinance establishing new fees for water and sewer connections: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular <br />meeting assembled this 25th day of July, 1967, that the connection fees for <br />tapping the City1s water and sewer systems (both inside and outside the corporate <br />limits of the City of Martinsville), pursuant to Section 18-19 of the CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF MARTINSVILLE (1956, and as amended), shall be as follows, payable <br />in advance: <br /> <br />(a) Water System - <br />For each 3/4-inch diameter connection . . . . . .. . $175.00 <br />For each 1-inch diameter connection. . . . . . .. . $275.00 <br />For each connection exceeding one inch in diameter, the fee shall <br />be the total actual cost of materials, labor, and equipment, plus <br />10% of the total of such cost. <br /> <br />(b) Sewer System - <br />For each 4-inch diameter connection. . . . . . . .. $125.00 <br />For each 6-inch diameter connection. . . . . . . .. $150.00 <br />For each connection exceeding six inches in diameter, the fee <br />shall be the total actual cost of materials, labor, and <br />equipment, plus 10% of the total of such cost. <br /> <br />(c) In addition to the applicable fees as provided for in (a) and (b) above, <br />an additional charge of $200.00 shall be levied for each sewer <br />connection made for property situated in the City and adjacent to and <br />fronting City-approved streets opened after effective date of this <br />ordinan ce. <br /> <br />,,- <br /> <br />(d) Buildings situated within the City's corporate limits, and constructed <br />prior to the date of this ordinance, shall be required to connect to <br />the City1s sewerage system not later than July 1, 1968. The fees to be <br />charged for each such connection shall be in accordance with the fees <br />as set forth in an ordinance dated June 26, 1951, as follows: <br />For each 4-inch diameter connection. . . . . . . .. $ 25.00 <br />For each 6-inch diameter connection. . . . . . . . . . . $ 50.00 <br />For each connection exceeding six inches in diameter, the fee <br />shall be the total installation cost, plus 10%. This section (d), <br />however, shall become null and void as of July 1, 1968; therefore, <br />all connections thereafter shall be in accordance with the rates <br />set forth in Sections (a), (b), and (c) hereinabove or as may <br />hereafter be established by City Council. <br /> <br />An emergency existing, this ordinance shall become effective July 26, 1967, and <br />all existing ordinance (or amendments thereto), related to water and sewer <br />connection charges, are hereby repealed as of July 26, 1967. <br /> <br />,- <br />
