..~ fj .....c TUESDAY JULY 25. 1967 Upon motion, duly seconded, and unanimously carried, Council adopted the following ordinance establishing new fees for water and sewer connections: BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this 25th day of July, 1967, that the connection fees for tapping the City1s water and sewer systems (both inside and outside the corporate limits of the City of Martinsville), pursuant to Section 18-19 of the CODE OF THE CITY OF MARTINSVILLE (1956, and as amended), shall be as follows, payable in advance: (a) Water System - For each 3/4-inch diameter connection . . . . . .. . $175.00 For each 1-inch diameter connection. . . . . . .. . $275.00 For each connection exceeding one inch in diameter, the fee shall be the total actual cost of materials, labor, and equipment, plus 10% of the total of such cost. (b) Sewer System - For each 4-inch diameter connection. . . . . . . .. $125.00 For each 6-inch diameter connection. . . . . . . .. $150.00 For each connection exceeding six inches in diameter, the fee shall be the total actual cost of materials, labor, and equipment, plus 10% of the total of such cost. (c) In addition to the applicable fees as provided for in (a) and (b) above, an additional charge of $200.00 shall be levied for each sewer connection made for property situated in the City and adjacent to and fronting City-approved streets opened after effective date of this ordinan ce. ,,- (d) Buildings situated within the City's corporate limits, and constructed prior to the date of this ordinance, shall be required to connect to the City1s sewerage system not later than July 1, 1968. The fees to be charged for each such connection shall be in accordance with the fees as set forth in an ordinance dated June 26, 1951, as follows: For each 4-inch diameter connection. . . . . . . .. $ 25.00 For each 6-inch diameter connection. . . . . . . . . . . $ 50.00 For each connection exceeding six inches in diameter, the fee shall be the total installation cost, plus 10%. This section (d), however, shall become null and void as of July 1, 1968; therefore, all connections thereafter shall be in accordance with the rates set forth in Sections (a), (b), and (c) hereinabove or as may hereafter be established by City Council. An emergency existing, this ordinance shall become effective July 26, 1967, and all existing ordinance (or amendments thereto), related to water and sewer connection charges, are hereby repealed as of July 26, 1967. ,-
