Fairy Street - From Northside Drive to East Church Street <br />(including bridge over Carolina and Northwestern Railroad): <br />Estimated Construction Cost = $340,000 <br />Financed - 50 percent City, 50 percent State <br /> <br />2. Relocate Route 57 - From Intersection Fairy Street and <br />Northside Drive to Intersection of existing Route 57 and Bethel Lane - <br />construct two lanes initially on four-lane right of way: <br />Estima ted Construction Cost = $84,000 <br />Financed - 15 percent City, 85 percent State <br /> <br />3. Northside Drive - From Intersection Fairy Street to Inter- <br />section Route 58 (East Church Street); <br />This will remaiL as is. <br /> <br />For your information, it is estimated that the total construction <br />cost of the entire project is approximately $1,320,000. <br /> <br />City Manager Noland informed Council of preparatory steps in progress toward <br /> <br />developing certain information in conjunction with the forthcoming 1970 Federal <br /> <br />Census, through the formation of a Census Tract Committee being sponsored in <br /> <br />Virginia by the Virginia Department of Highways, the local phase of which <br /> <br />/............ <br /> <br />(i.e., for Martinsville and Henry County) is being handled presently through <br /> <br />the City's Planning Commission and the local Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Pursuant to compliance wi th the City I S applicable regulations, Council <br /> <br />authorized Mr. M. J.
