<br />i) <br />, j~ t <br />,-} -'l.. <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 27. 1966 <br /> <br />vaccination of the dog, payment of the cost of impounding the dog at <br />the rate of twenty-five cents per day, with a minimum of two dollars, <br />and payment of any fine assessed under the provisions of this <br />ordinance. <br />At the expiration of the five-day period, any dog not so claimed <br />by its owner may be disposed of by giving it into the possession of <br />any person willing to pay the cost of impounding, vaccination and <br />license. If any dog is not disposed of within the ten-day period it <br />shall be killed in a humane manner by the impounding officer. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-10 Appointment of Impounding Officer. <br />An impounding officer shall be appointed by the City Manager and <br />may be assigned to such departmental supervision as may be desirable. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-11 Establishment of Pound; Duty of Impounding Officer. <br />There shall be established a pound in such place as the Council <br />may designate. It shall be the duty of the impounding officer, or <br />his duly authorized agent, to capture and imprison, in accordance with <br />Section 2-9, in the city pound all dogs running at large in violation <br />of this ordinance. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-12 Account of Monies Collected by Impounding Officer; <br />Payment into Treasury. <br />an accurate account shall be kept of all monies collected by the <br />impounding officer or any of his agents and the same paid to the City <br />Treasurer not less frequently than the last day of each month. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-13 Wrongful Removal of Tags. <br />No person shall wrongfully remove from the neck of any dog any <br />metal tag hereinbefore specified. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-14 Female Dogs in Season. <br />It shall be unlawful for the owner of any female dog to permit such <br />dog to stray from his premises while such dog is known to the owner to <br />be in season. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-15 Vicious, Barking, or Howling Dogs. <br />(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to keep within the city <br />any dog which is known to be vicious or which has evidenced a <br />disposition to attack human beings without prevo cation. Any violation <br />of this section shall be punished as provided in Section 1-6 of the <br />City Code and, should the owner or custodian of such dog fail or refuse <br />to comply with the terms of this section, the court may order that such <br />dog be disposed of in a humane manner by the impounding officer. <br />(b) The harboring or keeping of any dog which--by loud, frequent <br />or habitual barking or howling or by any other conduct--shall cause <br />annoyance and disturb the peace and quiet of any person or neighborhood <br />shall be unlawful and a violation of this chapter, and any such dog is <br />hereby declared to be a public nuisance. Any such dog--after reason- <br />able notice has been given by the warden to the owner of such dog, if <br />known, or upon complaint of any person, if such owner be unknown--may be <br />impounded and confined in the city dog pound by the impounding officer, <br />
