<br />., '\ <br />j t, ,; .1 <br />\} \, <br /> <br />TUESDA Y <br />-- <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 13. 1966 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />that--for and in consideration of the mutual benefits that will accrue <br />to both the City of Martinsville, Virginia, and the County of Henry, <br />Virginia--said Council hereby requests the cooperation and participation <br />of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Henry, Virginia, in further <br />comprehensive planning in the urban area of said County of Henry, <br />Virginia. <br /> <br />Adopted in regular session of said Council, this thirteenth day of <br />September, 1966. <br /> <br />After reviewing ways and means of financing the total estimated cost of the <br /> <br />proposed City Hall (Municipal) project and after discussing with Mr. J. Coates <br /> <br />Carter, Architect, estimated additional cost of providing a full basement <br /> <br />under the new City Hall proper (computed at $3.88 per square foot for 20,600 <br /> <br />additional square feet, or approximately $80,000.00), which was not included <br /> <br />in plans and specifications on which bidders submitted their bids August 31, <br /> <br />1966, Council unanimously authorized the construction of the total project <br /> <br />and awarded the following contracts: <br /> <br />Contractor <br />Stanley W. Appleby and <br /> <br />Mr. O. W. Poindexter concerning proposed revisions to the City's Dog <br /> <br />Regulations, as well as suggested revisions thereto presented by Mr. F. S. <br /> <br />Dickson, Council placed upon third reading said proposed revisions, <br /> <br />including additional explanatory sections suggested by City Attorney Cubine. <br />
