It was pointed out, however, that the <br /> <br />franchise holder has been unable to file required copies of pole attachment <br /> <br />agreements inasmuch as the form of agreement involving City-owned poles and <br /> <br />lines remains pending. Mr. C. Harry Anglin, t/a Clearview Cable Television <br /> <br />Company, appeared before Council and protested proposed terms of suggested <br /> <br />agreement for the use of the City's poles and lines; whereupon Council continued <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />this matter for further study, pending additional conferences between City <br /> <br />officials and Mr. Anglin in the interest of developing agreement terms. <br /> <br />The Reverend Duke Harrison, Priest-In-Charge of St. Paul's Episcopal Church <br /> <br />(Mission), Martinsville, and a number of other interested citizens appeared <br /> <br />before Council and presented a resolution requesting the appointing by Council <br /> <br />of a "Community Action Agency" committee to function under the Federal Govern- <br /> <br />ment's Anti-Poverty Program under guidelines established by the Virginia Office <br /> <br />of Economic Opportunity. Council indicated that it would name such a committee <br /> <br />not later than May 17th. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a certified copy--from Martinsville Corporation <br /> <br />Court--of the abstract of votes cast in the April 19th School Bond Referendum <br /> <br />as well as a certified copy of the Corporation Court's order confirming the <br /> <br />results of said referendum, indicating overwhelming approval of the question <br /> <br />voted upon.
