<br />14 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br />-- <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 8, 1 966 <br /> <br />Pursuant to request of the Martinsville City School Board, Council directed <br /> <br />City Attorney Cubine to take the necessary legal steps for the holding of a <br /> <br />bond referendum on Tuesday, April 19, 1966, on the question of issuing <br /> <br />$3,000,000.00 of general obligation bonds to finance the following local <br /> <br />school projects: <br /> <br />1. To construct and equip a new senior high school on Northside Drive <br /> <br />and to provide the necessary access, grading, drainage, landscaping, <br /> <br />utilities, and architectural services; <br /> <br />2. To construct and equip a vocational shop and facilities at the <br /> <br />Albert Harris High School and to provide the necessary access, <br /> <br />grading, drainage, landscaping, utilities, and architectural <br /> <br />services; <br /> <br />3. To construct and equip an addition to the vocational (or industrial <br /> <br />arts) shop building on Brown Street and to provide the necessary <br /> <br />access, grading, drainage, landscaping, utilities, and architectural <br /> <br />services; and <br /> <br />4. To provide a limited amount of remodeling at the present Martinsville <br /> <br />High School buildings located on Cleveland Avenue and Brown Street in <br /> <br />order to convert these facilities for use as a junior high school. <br /> <br />In acknowledging receipt of the following franchise bids to operate a Community <br /> <br />Antenna Television System (CATV) in Martinsville, Council indicated that it <br /> <br />would continue this matter (i.e., bids) for study as well as City Attorney <br /> <br />Cubine's opinion on the bid bonds accompanying said bids: <br /> <br />Clear-View Cable Television Company <br />$5,000,00 for the franchise <br />3% on the first $100,000. <br />4% on the allover $100,000. <br />
