1 J

TUESDAY

FEBRUARY 8, 1966

",-

Booth American Company
$16,000.00 for the franchise
1 3/4% on the first $100,000.
2% on the allover $100,000.

W. L. W. Corporation
$5,100.00 for the franchise
5.1% of the first $100,000.
7.5% on the allover $100,000.

Council unanimously re-enacted a Motor Vehicle License Tax ordinance--as

became effective March 15, 1965--for the license tax year beginning March 15,

1 966.

Upon being informed by City Manager Noland of traffic hazards and traffic

congestion on principal thoroughfares caused--as during recent snowfalls--by

failure of motor vehicle owners properly to equip their motor vehicles that

such vehicles might not impede other traffic, Council requested a special

committee (consisting of City Manager Noland, City Attorney Cubine, and Police

Chief Bolejack) to prepare a proposed ordinance, for Council's consideration,

which would provide penalties for motorists who fail to equip their vehicles

that they might not impede traffic during snowfalls.

In connection with recent snowfalls, Council commended the Public Works

Department for its early removal of snow from City streets, thereby opening

streets for expeditious flow of traffic and reducing usual hazards.

Council took no action on continuing complaints from citizens regarding dogs

running-at-large and air pollution.
