<br />] : <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 8. 1966 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />_. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this eighth day of February, 1966, that <br />the Zoning Code and the Zoning Nap of the City of Martinsville be, and <br />are, hereby amended to reclassify--for zoning purposes--to "C-3 <br />Commercialll those certain properties owned (or in process of being <br />acquired) by North Martinsville Pentecostal Holiness Church, being <br />identified as Lots No~. 7 and 8 (see Map of J. 1. Petuske subdivision <br />recorded in Henry County Circuit Court Clerk's Office), situated <br />between Liberty Street and Lester Lane. <br /> <br />~"-... <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular meeting assembled this eighth day of February, 1966, that <br />the Zoning Code (i.e., Zoning Ordinance) of the City of Martinsville <br />be, and is, hereby amended to the extent that Section 5, Subsection <br />"b", Paragraph 9 thereof shall read as follows: <br />Bowling establishments or bowling establishments with a <br />billiard parlor operated as a secondary use to the bowling <br />establishment and in the same building. <br /> <br />Upon being apprised of the favorable results of the "municipal facility" (City <br /> <br />Hall) bond referendum held this date, as subsequently confirmed by an Abstract <br /> <br />of Votes filed with the Council and as hereinafter recorded, Council expressed <br /> <br />its appreciation and gratitude to those citizens who took an active part in <br /> <br />presenting this question or matter to the voters, to the local news media, and <br /> <br />with special recognition to Mr. W. D. Hartford, who served as Chairman of the <br /> <br />Citizens Committee. <br /> <br />FREEHOLDERS <br />FOR BOND ISSUE Fifteen hundred thirty-one <br />AGAINST BOND ISSUE Three hundred thirteen <br /> <br />Votes (1531) <br />Votes ( 313) <br /> <br />NON FREEHOLDERS <br />FOR BOND ISSUE Two Hundred eighty-one <br />AGAINST BOND ISSUE Sixty-seven <br /> <br />Votes ( 281) <br />Votes ( 67) <br /> <br />Council acknowledged with appreciation the 1965 Annual Report of the Martinsville <br /> <br />Volunteer Fire Company, commending this organization for its continuing signifi- <br /> <br />cant service to the City and its citizens through fire prevention and fire <br /> <br />protection. <br />
