There being no <br /> <br />objections registered by anyone, Council approved said petition, as amended, <br /> <br />through its unanimous adoption of the following ordinance amending the City's <br /> <br />Zoning Code and Map: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia <br />in regular meeting assembled this twenty-fifth day of July, 1972, <br />that the Zoning Code and the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville <br />be--and are hereby--amended to reclassify from "R-9 Residential" to <br />"M-3 Industrial" that certain property owned by Kings Mountain <br />Development Corporation and situated south of the south line of the <br />proposed relocation of Stultz Road, being that property of owner <br />not already so zoned "M-3 Industrial". <br /> <br />Council continued consideration, to its forthcoming August 8th meeting, <br /> <br />and such action as may be appropriate, of the naming of City representatives <br /> <br />to membership on the Board of the recently-created Regional Public Library. <br /> <br />Council also continued consideration, to its forthcoming August 8th meeting, <br /> <br />of a proposal that the City participate in the establishment of a Community <br /> <br />/- <br /> <br />Mental Health & Mental Retardation Services program, as suggested by the <br /> <br />West Piedmont Planning District Commission in collaboration with the State <br /> <br />Department of Mental Hygiene & Hospitals. <br /> <br />In connection with its recent inspection of City streets for which curb-and-gutter <br /> <br />and/or sidewalk petitions have been filed or for which need is demonstrated for <br /> <br />,-. <br /> <br />sidewalks in public school areas, Council approved the proposed construction <br /> <br />program for 1972-73, indicating that emphasis is to be placed on the School <br /> <br />sidewalk needs even though same might not be subject to the City's shared-cost <br /> <br />policy and even though some curb-and-gutter construction might necessarily be <br />
