Greene, Realtor, filed an application <br /> <br />for a Special-Use Permit which, if granted, will enable him to construct an <br /> <br />apartment complex (first phase consisting of 108 units) on property owned by Mr. <br /> <br />George C. Salmons and located on the east side of Salmons Street and the south <br /> <br />side of East Church Street. Council referred this application to the Planning <br /> <br />Commission for its consideration and recommendation. <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br />Council approved for construction two sidewalk requests, being on primary routes, <br /> <br />viz., along the east side of Fayette Street (between Ailcie and West Church Streets) <br /> <br />and along the south side of West Church Street, fronting the property of Bob White's <br /> <br />Chevyland, Inc. <br /> <br />By letter dated June 13, 1972, Messrs. Dan S. Robertson and William N. Pritchett, <br /> <br />on behalf of Farmer's Warehouse, requested permission to connect to the City's <br /> <br />sewerage system to serve a new warehouse--now under construction--located outside <br /> <br />the City's corporate limits on Route 58 East. Council referred this request to <br /> <br />the Planning Commission for consideration of covenants which might be involved and <br /> <br />which might involve the extending of a City water main at Some point in the future. <br /> <br />Upon being informed that the State Compensation Board recently denied Sheriff James <br /> <br />L. Carter's request for an additional deputy for the forthcoming fiscal year, <br /> <br />Council unanimously directed its Clerk to relay to the Compensation Board the <br /> <br />Council's concurrence in this request and the Council's desire that the Compensation <br /> <br />Board also concur and approve.. <br /> <br />Council agreed to meeting on June 28th with the Henry County Board of Supervisors <br /> <br />to discuss terms of a proposed Regional Library contract. <br />
