-.', I.
:..: ' , \)

TUESDAY

JULY 13, 1971

Construction Company, meanwhile being apprised of the need in the future for

an elevated 1,000,000-gallon water storage tank somewhere in or near the

central business district to implement water service:

Prillaman & Pace, Inc.
Bryant's Plumbing & Hearing
Laramore Construction Company

$92 ,272.00;
$76,208.00; and
$73,675.00.

With reference to Council's action taken May 11, 1971, wherein was issued a

Special-Use Permit to Northview Gardens Associates for its proposed apartment

complex off Stultz Road, Council received--and approved for execution by City

Manager Noland on behalf of the City--a contract between the City and Northview

Gardens, setting forth conditions governing the furnishing by the City of

water and sewer services to this apartment complex.

Mr. Douglas K. Frith, Attorney at Law and Counsel for a number of owners of

property located on that portion of Valleyview Road which lies outside the

City's corporate limits, appeared before Council and informed Council that

these property owners will soon file a formal petition requesting annexing

of their properties (consisting of approximately twelve residences and seventeen

acres of land) to or by the City, citing their remoteness from Henry County

schools and voting precincts as well as from general services for which Henry

County is responsible. City Attorney Cubine advised Council that these

petitioners, should their properties become annexed, in allegiance to the

City and as recipients of City services, should be served by all City utilities.

Meanwhile, Council indicated that the City will welcome these property owners

into the City should their request of the courts be granted.
