<br />34 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />DECEMBER 31, 1974 <br /> <br />,.~""'-' <br /> <br />Corporation, requesting a Special-Use Permit to allow for the construction of <br /> <br />a twelve-unit apartment building on Lots Nos. 11 and 12, Section B (C. Y. Thomas <br /> <br />Estate), on Randolph Street. By report dated December 31, 1974, the Planning <br /> <br />Commission reported that, following its public hearing on December 19, 1974, <br /> <br />it now recommends that the request be granted and the Special-Use Permit be <br /> <br />issued, subject to a set of standards--recommended by the Commission--being <br /> <br />made a part of said permit. Upon motion, duly seconded, and with Councilman <br /> <br />Morton W. Lester abstaining, Council unanimously (i.e., the four remaining <br /> <br />members) issued said permit in accordance with the Planning Commission's <br /> <br />report and recommendations. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a report of the Planning Commission, in which <br /> <br />was recommended that Sale Knitting Company's request (filed under date of November <br /> <br />7, 1974), that all of Fontaine Street situated east of Franklin Street be vacated, <br /> <br />closed, and abandoned, be granted. Whereupon motion, duly seconded and unanimously <br /> <br />carried, Council directed that a duly-advertised public hearing be conducted on <br /> <br />this proposal, including the recommended abandoning of a fifteen-foot drainage <br /> <br />easement crossing said Fontaine Street, at Council's forthcoming January 28 (1975) <br /> <br />meeting. <br /> <br />In connection with a status report of the CBD Commission, Council continued to an <br /> <br />Executive Session a real estate matter involved therein. <br /> <br />Upon request of the Piedmont Trust Bank, which request was substantiated by the <br /> <br />Department of Taxation of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Council unanimously <br /> <br />authorized and directed the refunding of $244.80 to said Piedmont Trust Bank, <br />
