<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />OCTOBER 9, 1973 <br /> <br />125 square feet required for this purpose, Council authorized the purchase of <br /> <br />said required right-of-way from Mr. & Mrs. Richardson for said price and <br /> <br />consideration. <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br />Council continued to its next regular meeting the naming of nominees for <br /> <br />membership on the 1974 Board of Assessors to conduct the forthcoming quadrennial <br /> <br />reassessment of taxable real estate. <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted the report of the CBD Study Commission wherein <br /> <br />was recommended that the former Lacy property (recently purchased) located <br /> <br />at 12 Gravely Street be converted (when practicable, including razing of <br /> <br />house thereon) to an off-street parking area, thereby enlarging the present <br /> <br />parking facility to the rear of the City's Municipal Building. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council appointed <br /> <br />Mr. Walter Lee Penn, III, Attorney at Law, to membership on the CBD Study <br /> <br />Commission, filling the vacancy thereon resulting from the recent death of <br /> <br />State Senator William F. Stone. <br /> <br />Also upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council appointed <br /> <br />Mr. Clyde Luck Williams as the City's citizen representative on the West <br /> <br />Piedmont Planning District Commission's Housing Committee. <br /> <br />Council referred to the Planning Commission--for its consideration and <br /> <br />recommendation--a petition filed by Mr. Jerry S.
