West, Boaz and Lester <br /> <br />voted for Mr. Brown; and Messrs. Hartford and Hobson voted for Mr. Globman. <br /> <br />Accordingly, Mr. Brown was elected to membership on the WPPDC to succeed <br /> <br />Mr. Globman at the expiration of Mr. Globman's term. <br /> <br />,.- <br /> <br />Pursuant to request of the Martinsville Volunteer Fire Company, Council <br /> <br />unanimously approved the renewal and extension of the Special-Use Permit <br /> <br />issued June 8, 1971 (for the years 1971, 1972, and 1973), thus permitting <br /> <br />said Volunteer Fire Company to conduct its 1973 Bazaar at Brown Street Field <br /> <br />during the period June 25, 1973 through June 30, 1973. <br /> <br />",-' <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of the 1973-1974 budget requests of the several <br /> <br />local Constitutional Officers, which requests are to be filed with the State <br /> <br />Compensation Board on April 2, 1973. Sheriff James L. Carter informed Council <br /> <br />that his request does not include sufficient personnel to carry out provisions <br /> <br />of recent State statutes as they pertain to supervision of all courts within <br /> <br />his jurisdiction, when in session; whereupon, Council indicated its approval <br /> <br />of adding two new--and additional--personnel to his budget request. On motion, <br /> <br />which was duly seconded, Council unanimously (by recorded vote) directed that <br /> <br />these requests, as they relate to salaries proposed, be considered in an <br /> <br />Executive Session to be held at the conclusion of Council's regular agenda for <br /> <br />this meeting in order that Council might offer some guidelines to City Manager <br /> <br />Noland in the preparation of his salary recommendations for other City employees <br /> <br />in his forthcoming recommended 1973-1974 City Budget. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Council referred to the Planning Commission, for its consideration and <br /> <br />recommendation, a petition filed by Mr. James M. Wilson requesting the rezoning <br /> <br />to "P-2" of property located at 818 Starling Avenue, which property Mr. Wilson <br />
