Also, at Mr. Wilson's request for <br /> <br />expeditious processing of this petition, Council agreed to conduct its <br /> <br />required public hearing jointly with the Planning Commission's required <br /> <br />public hearing, preferably at a forthcoming regular meeting of the Council. <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted, with appreciation, some fifteen deeds from <br /> <br />property owners on Barrows Mill Road, whereby these property owners are <br /> <br />donating some 3~ feet on each side of said Barrows Mill Road, between <br /> <br />Burgess Court and the corporate limits, to enable the City to construct <br /> <br />curb-and-gutter (on a shared-cost) basis. It was also indicated that these <br /> <br />property owners will, in the future, donate an additional five feet for <br /> <br />construction of a future sidewalk along this street. <br /> <br />Council accepted the invitation of the City School Board to meet with the <br /> <br />School Board at the School Board office, Monday, April 2, 1973, at which <br /> <br />time the School Board may discuss with Council certain aspects of the Board's <br /> <br />recommended budget for 1973-74. <br /> <br />At the suggestion of Councilman Hobson, Chairman of the Environmental Committee, <br /> <br />Council directed City Manager Noland to include funds in his forthcoming <br /> <br />proposed 1973-1974 City Budget for improvements to that tract--located at <br /> <br />Finley Street and Mulberry Road--donated by Mr. and Mrs. Victor A. Lester for <br /> <br />park purposes. <br /> <br />Councilman Hobson also suggested that, before the next "Clean-Up Week" drive <br /> <br />and succeeding drives, sufficient advance publicity thereon be given the public. <br />
