Also, at Mr. Wilson's request for

expeditious processing of this petition, Council agreed to conduct its

required public hearing jointly with the Planning Commission's required

public hearing, preferably at a forthcoming regular meeting of the Council.

Council unanimously accepted, with appreciation, some fifteen deeds from

property owners on Barrows Mill Road, whereby these property owners are

donating some 3~ feet on each side of said Barrows Mill Road, between

Burgess Court and the corporate limits, to enable the City to construct

curb-and-gutter (on a shared-cost) basis. It was also indicated that these

property owners will, in the future, donate an additional five feet for

construction of a future sidewalk along this street.

Council accepted the invitation of the City School Board to meet with the

School Board at the School Board office, Monday, April 2, 1973, at which

time the School Board may discuss with Council certain aspects of the Board's

recommended budget for 1973-74.

At the suggestion of Councilman Hobson, Chairman of the Environmental Committee,

Council directed City Manager Noland to include funds in his forthcoming

proposed 1973-1974 City Budget for improvements to that tract--located at

Finley Street and Mulberry Road--donated by Mr. and Mrs. Victor A. Lester for

park purposes.

Councilman Hobson also suggested that, before the next "Clean-Up Week" drive

and succeeding drives, sufficient advance publicity thereon be given the public.
