Stone, Trustee,

requesting the closing of Overton Street, situated on the south side of

Memorial Boulevard South.

City Manager Noland informed Council that a new line truck for the Electric

Department will probably cost $58,100.00, for which the sum of $50,000.00

was included in the Electric Fund1s 1977-78 budget, with the City Manager

suggesting a transfer of $8,100.00 from another account within that

department's current budget; however, in acceptance of the recommendation

and motion by Councilman Greene, whose current analysis of the Electric

Fund was recently presented to Council, Council unanimously authorized the

usage (if not prohibited by Revenue-Sharing regulations) of Revenue-Sharing

funds for the purchase of this piece of equipment, meanwhile unanimously

appropriating such funds for such purpose.

Upon being informed that Mr. N. Stewart Miller has rezigned as a member of

the Blue Ridge Regional Library Board, Council unanimously appointed Mr. Hal

G. Prillaman to said Board (as a member from the City) for Mr. Miller's

unexpired term (ending June 30, 1979), meanwhile expressing appreciation of

Mr. Miller's services to the community while a member of this Board.
