S. Corps of Engineers, and with Council being informed that the <br /> <br />City of Martinsville has filed notice with the appropriate agency that the City <br /> <br />wishes to be notified in advance of expiration of present electric energy contracts <br /> <br />the Corps of Engineers holds with other contracting parties, in order that the City <br /> <br />might be considered in the allocating of such energy, should the City deem feasible <br /> <br />the purchasing of energy from this source, Council unanimously authorized R. W. Beck <br /> <br />& Associates to prepare an Application for a Preliminary Permit (from the Federal <br /> <br />Power Commission) and to conduct and report on an Appraisal Study (Phase I), pursuant <br /> <br />to the following proposal submitted by this firm, for which sufficient funds were <br /> <br />appropriated by Council in the City's adopted 1977-78 Budget: <br /> <br />1. Preparation of an Application to the Federal Power Commission (FPC) <br />for a Preliminary Permit for the proposed Ridgeway and Fosters Falls <br />Hydroelectric Projects. <br /> <br />2. Phase I, Appraisal Study and report relating to expansion and <br />rehabilitation of the existing Martinsville Hydroelectric Plant. <br />
