<br />,., i, <br />: ~ r;; <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 12, 1977 <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted the <br /> <br />following resolution requesting the Virginia Department of Highways & <br /> <br />Transportation to award a grant of $5,000.00 to the City of Martinsville to <br /> <br />help defray the cost of administrative expenses incurred by the City's public <br /> <br />transit system for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1977, which resolution authorized <br /> <br />City Manager Noland to file an appropriate application therefor: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled July 12, 1977, <br />that the City Manager of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />is hereby authorized, for and on behalf of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, to make application to the Virginia <br />Department of Highways & Transportation, Commonwealth of <br />Virginia, for a grant of regional transportation special <br />revenues, pursuant to the 1976 Acts of the Virginia General <br />Assembly (Chapter 779, State Aid for Administration), in the <br />amount of $5,000.00 for the fiscal year ended June 30, 1977, <br />to help defray the administrative expenses incurred by the <br />City of Martinsville's public transit system during said <br />fiscal year, with such documents, as may be required by the <br />Virginia Department of Highways & Transportation for the <br />processing of the grant application, to be furnished to <br />said Virginia Department of Highways & Transportation. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said Council that the aforementioned <br />grant is to be applied in accordance with the requirements <br />of the Virginia General Assembly's Appropriation Act of 1976; <br />that the City of Martinsville, Virginia, has provided matching <br />funds (during said fiscal year) in the three-to-one ratio as <br />required by said Act; that the records of receipts and <br />expenditures of the City's public transit system, for its <br />1976-77 fiscal year's operations, may be subject to audit by <br />the Virginia Department of Highways & Transportation; and that <br />said grant funds shall help defray the administrative expenses <br />incurred by the City of Martinsville's public transit system <br />for its fiscal year ended June 30, 1977. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation' of the City's administrative staff, Council unanimously adopted <br /> <br />the following ordinance amending Section 2-4(2) of the City's Erosion & Sediment <br /> <br />Control Ordinance, as adopted November 25, 1975: <br />
