<br />4~ <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />JULY 12, 1977 <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twelfth day of <br />July, 1977, that the City's Erosion & Sediment Control <br />Ordinance, as adopted November 25, 1975 and as effected <br />December 31, 1975, be and is hereby amended to the extent <br />that item "(2)" of Subsection 2-4 thereof, "individual <br />service connections and construction or installation of <br />public utility lines" is hereby deleted and replaced by <br />the following: <br /> <br />~- <br /> <br />(2) individual service connections. (2a) construction, <br />installation, or maintenance of electric and telephone <br />lines; (2b) installation, maintenance, or repair of any <br />underground public utility lines when such activity <br />occurs on an existing hard surface road, street or <br />sidewalk, provided such land-disturbing activity is <br />confined to the area of the road, street or sidewalk <br />which is (or are) hard-surfaced; (etc. . .) <br /> <br />An emergency existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and <br />after July 12, 1977. <br /> <br />Upon being informed that the Planning Commission has conditionally approved a proposed <br /> <br />subdivision contract between the City and Nationwide Homes for "Stage B" of <br /> <br />Nationwide Homes' subdivision development off Brookdale Road, Council unanimously <br /> <br />approved said proposed contract and authorized execution thereof by and for the City. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Cole, on behalf of Council, commended the Martinsville JAYCEES on its <br /> <br />recent conduct and sponsorship of the community July 4th celebration. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />:j,''''''', <br />W.
