<br />the fine for such violation if such person promptly
<br />submits such citation to the appropriate department
<br />head, agency head or court clerk and (if) an official
<br />form identifying the service performed, the name of
<br />the person receiving such citation, the person's
<br />motor vehicle license number, and the authorizing
<br />signature of the appropriate department head, agency
<br />head or court clerk (or his or their agent) is
<br />submitted with the citation to the Police Department
<br />within twenty-four (24) hours.

<br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville,
<br />Virginia, in regular session held July l2, 1977, that Section
<br />10-l17 of the Code of the City of Martinsville, Virginia
<br />(l97l, and as amended) be and is hereby amended by adding
<br />thereto the following:

<br />Any person who receives a citation for violation of
<br />this section, while performing a specified public
<br />service for a Martinsville City or Henry County
<br />department, agency or court, or as a member of a
<br />duly-established Martinsville City or Henry County
<br />commission, board or committee, shall not be
<br />required to pay the fine for such violation if
<br />such person promptly submits such citation to the
<br />appropriate department head, agency head or court
<br />clerk and (if) an official form identifying the
<br />service performed, the name of the person receiving
<br />such citation, the person's motor vehicle license
<br />number, and the authorizing signature of the
<br />appropriate department head, agency head or court
<br />clerk (or his or their agent) is submitted with the
<br />citation to the Police Department within twenty-four
<br />(24) hours.

<br />Council acknowledged a status report from Assistant City Manager-Public Works Director
<br />
<br />George W. Brown on the recently-authorized Economic Development Administration grant
<br />
<br />application, which application was filed July 9, 1977.
<br />
<br />Council also acknowledged, with appreciation, a donation of $200.00 from the
<br />
<br />Progressive Ladies & Gentlemen (PL&G) Club, to be used toward improving Community
<br />
<br />Park.
